All ACFID members have in place a policy that prohibits sexual exploitation and abuse, describes behavioural standards, specifies reporting responsibilities and articulates the ways in which the policy will be implemented, including with partners.
We know the critical aspect of a policy is how it works in practice; and considering this is a relatively new Code requirement, we now seek to explore how our members are implementing these standards successfully in the countries in which they work.
ACFID will host a panel of selected members who will come together to talk about how they have approached their partnerships with this (new) requirement, the challenges they have faced, and lessons learned from the field and from understanding how PSEA measures play out in different contextual environments.
The event provides an opportunity for ACFID members to learn from each other, for ACFID to profile good practice, and will incorporate opportunities for Q and A, as well as lunch afterwards allowing for informal networking.
The event piggy-backs from the PSEAH Guidance and webinar that ACFID hosted in August 2019, in which ACFID members expressed a clear interest in understanding how PSEAH policy and practices can be implemented with partners.
- Further details on the Panel members will be released closer to the event.
- The event is open only to ACFID members, however will be recorded and the key highlights will be made publicly available after the event.
- Although Melbourne-based, there will be an opportunity for ACFID members who are based elsewhere to view and participate via technology.
