Introduction To the Sector - Melbourne

This is a face-to-face one-day introductory workshop about aid and development work; it covers historical context, future directions, emerging debates, an introduction to ACFID and the Code of Conduct, an overview of the Australian Government’s Aid program, and implications for Australian NGOs.

Using a participatory format, this workshop explores the opportunities, challenges and complexities that face Australian NGOs seeking more effective development outcomes.

It is pitched at new staff, volunteers and Board members. It is also suitable for current NGO staff wanting an update on relevant sector issues, and useful for those thinking about working in the sector.

This workshop is designed and run by Jan Cossar. Jan is a highly regarded and experienced facilitator who has worked with NGOs, DFAT, and the private sector, over a number of years. She will share her knowledge and experiences from working across the Asia-Pacific and Africa throughout the day as well as drawing on stories from participants.

This session has been heavily discounted for increased affordability. ACFID greatly appreciates the hosting of this event by AVI at its premises in Fitzroy.

$150.00 for ACFID members and affiliates, $180.00 non-members.
